Father George Jackson Feldman, O. PRAEM Archmere Class of 1936 and former Archmere faculty member died on August 5, 2002. A photo of Father Feldman taken in 2001 can be viewed at www.archmere-alumni.org/norbdepere.htm Any donations in memory of Fr. Feldman should be directed to Archmere, c/o Fr. Feldman Memorial Scholarship Fund 3600 Philadelphia Pike Claymont, DE 19703-0130. A small memorial mass is being planned for the Fall of 2002.

Class of 1949 - Submitted by PHILIP TOMAN '49 - Leonard W. Quill, Class of '49, was honored last night with the highest award of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, the Josiah Marvel Cup. The ceremonies were at the Riverfront Arts Center in Wilmington. It was presented not only for his work in business, he is the retired CEO of Wimington Trust, but for his life-long charity efforts and his work for affordable housing in our area. DSCC Chairman Michael Uffner said at the presentation in front of about 800 business and communtiy leaders, "There are certain people who do things in a very quiet way and you never know about it. This is one of those guys." Congratulations to Len Quill! Len also was honored as Alumnus of the Year by our school a few years ago and was one of the committee members who helped plan and execute our 50th anniversary celebration. For those of you who get the News Journal, it is the lead story of today's (15 January 2002) Businness Section.

Charles Scheer 1960 writes: Please take me off the Missing list. After years in Florida I've discovered the Archmere Web Site. Happily married with three grown children, all doing well. Working at the University of Florida in the Nuclear & Radiological Engineering Department. Have worked in nuclear field since spending years in nuclear subs in the 60's and graduating from Penn State. Get to see my buddy Gerry Owens once in a while, as he lives in Ft. Lauderdale. To classmates, please note, I never threw the lectern out the window!

Brian Hiley 1966 writes: My mother, Janet M. Hiley, passed away Jan. 22, 2002 due to complications of surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. My father, Alan E. Hiley, passed away May 7, 2002 after many years fighting non-Hodgkins lymphoma and after developing myelodysplasia which converted to acute leukemia in the weeks before his death. My wife of almost 25 years, Monica Milhorn Hiley, passed away May 25, 2002 after 15 months of treatment for metastatic breast cancer. It has been a rough year. Please keep me and my children in your prayers.

Charles Garland, Jr. '70 was erroneously classified as deceased in 1997 when his father Charles Sr. passed away. Charles is alive and well and lives in Virginia with his wife Elizabeth (Married July 5, 2001) and son Charles III (Born May 10, 2002).

Al Fierro 1971 writes: I received Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation received from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in August of 2001.

Robert Piane '74 - Mrs. Piane, mother of Robert '74 and Bryan '79, passed away on 9 May 2002 due to complications during heart surgery.

Vincent Dimondi 1976 writes: Vince and Barb are expecting our 6 th child in Feb. Our oldest NIck is off to College in August.

Kevin Donovan 1977 writes- a labor and employment lawyer living in West Windsor, NJ, is enjoying watching his son's Little League team compete in the League Championship Series. Kevin's son, John (age 11), plays pitcher and catcher (not simultaneously). Kevin will let you know how the series turned out at the October reunion.

William J.Forsyth Jr 1979 writes- William J Forsyth Sr, father of William J Forsyth Jr '79 and Mary Helen Forsyth-Heinemann '81 passed away on March 24, 2002

Pamela Carney 1979 writes- Pam Carney and her husband Kevin Butterfield celebrated the birth of twin boys on Feb 23, 2002. Sean and Reilly join their 3yr old brother at home in Charlotte, NC. Pam works for MeadWestvaco

Francis Lucey 1979 writes : I got married on July 20 to the former Marianne Sibiski at Saint Patrick's Church in Wilmington, DE. It was a small wedding with just family attending. Marianne and I honeymooned on Grand Cayman Island. My children have doubled from three to six. Any family plans at Archmere?

Joseph Bellew 1980 writes - Helen Bellew our mother (Joseph 1980, Kevin, 1987 and Sean 1990) died on December 27, 2001.

John N. '80, Mark R.'81 and Diane '83 Hernick write - John R. Hernick, father of John N. '80, Mark R.'81 and Diane '83, died at home, in the presence of his entire family, on February 21, 2002, from cancer.

Dana Reist Pletz 1980 writes: My Claymont based business " It's in the Bag Catering and TakeOut " has been open for two years now. The kids are doing well. Sarah is 13 and Brian is 20. Married almost 22 years.

Catherine Carosino Subick 1982 writes- Welcomed identical twin daughters Stacia and Katrina on November 20, 2001. All are doing well.

John V. Stephano 1982 writes- John was recently awarded a Masters of Science degree from the George Mason University Program on Social and Organizational Development.

Maria Repice 1983 writes: Our second child, Antonio, was born on Sunday, August 11 at 12:15 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and measured 20.5 inches. Big sister Maria Elena is treating him with loving care.

Lisa Mcgurgan Levine 1983 writes: David, Logan and I welcomed our new addition, Adam Charles, to the family on August 2, 2002. Logan, age 3, is wonderful big sister.

Sally Brown Costello 1984 writes- We, Pat '81, and I had our second child, a daughter, Ciara Ann, on March 12, 2002. Her big brother Quinn (5 1/2) is glad that he has a sister.

Christa Cahill Cavanaugh 1984 writes: 2002 has been a good year for me. This February 14th, I married my husband Bill Cavanaugh (1st marriage for both of us). This January, I started my second company, United Quality Merchants, Inc. We sell women's handbags and accessories through home demonstrations, local outdoor markets and through our web store.

Jodi Zinman DeCleene 1984 writes: Jodi and Brian welcomed boy and girl twins on May 24, 2002. Elinor Lillian "Elli" weighed 6lbs5oz and Brandon Ray weighed 7lbs. 4oz. The twins were welcomed home by their very exxcited 2 1/2 year old brother Owen. I am presently on leave from CP of Eastern Massachusetts where I have worked as a pediatric OT for the past 6 years. Old news includes receiving my advanced masters in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire in 2000. Everyone is doing great!!

Kevin Carney 1984 writes: My wife, Kelley, and I welcomed our second child, Nolan John, on June 10, 2002. Nolan's big brother, age 2 1/2, is Aidan. We relocated back to the East Coast in January after living in San Francisco, CA for over 10 years.

Elizabeth Smith Brown 1985 writes: My husband Dave and I welcomed the birth of our third child, Catherine James, born on May 21,2002. She joins big brother, Michael and big sister, Maggie, 3 year old twins. We live in West Chester, PA and belong to St. Maximillian Kolbe Church.
And sadly this past year, my father, James T. Smith Sr. past away on September 15, 2001.

Robert Mears, III 1986 writes: Robert' and wife Katie welcome a second daughter, McKenna Martin born 4-22-02. McKenna joins her older sister, Ehrin Riley at home in West Chester.

Peter Kratsa 1986 writes: I married Jennifer Satinsky in Southampton, Bermuda on June 22, 2002. Among those in attendance were my sister, Jennifer Bastian ('87), brother Jason Kratsa ('01) and brother-in-law Matthew Bastian ('83). Our wedding reception was held at Concord Country Club in Concordville, PA on July 5th. We currently reside in Lansdale, PA. I continue to practice law in West Chester, PA as a partner in Donatoni and Kratsa.

Cathertine Smith 1987 writes: I have been teaching first grade in Chester-Upland for six years and have recently received a masters in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph's University.

Mary Vallett Mariska 1988 writes- My husband Mark and I (and big brother, Jarod) would like to announce the birth of our second child, Elanor Victoria on January 28, 2002. We are still living in the Cincinnati area where Mark flies for Delta and Mary runs a scientific editing and consulting business from home.

Joanne Fungaroli 1988 writes: I graduated from Tulane in 1999 with a JD/MBA and am currently practicing law in Philadelphia, specializing in finance and international business. I recently spent 6 months working in Lyon, France as part of the Philadelphia Bar Association's attorney-exchange program.

Steve Lemak 1989 writes- Steve Lemak '89 married Judi Bloch Sept. 29, 2001. Members of the wedding party included Bill Gehrman '88 and John Jordan '80. Tom Whitwell '89 was best man. Steve & Judi currently live in Wilmington, DE and will be moving to Kennett Square, PA in Feb 2002. Steve received his Masters in Instructional Technology from Philadelphia University in Aug 2001.

Martin J. Cosenza, PE 1989 was graduated with honors in October from the Georgetown University Law Center. Martin, who holds his masters degree in mechanical engineering, leaves the Boeing company where he worked as an aerospace engineer since 1993 to practice intelectual property law at the Washington D.C. office of Foley and Lardner.

Jason Sack 1989 writes- Vicki and I are grateful to announce the birth of our 1st child, Ava Victoria Sack. Ava was born on March 29, 2002. She was 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 22 inches long. She was born at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

Pete Zurbach 1989 writes: My wife Jennifer gave birth to a son, Christopher Aidan, July 16. My daughter Christine and son Alexander are thrilled with their new brother.

Maureen Zwolak Chiari 1990 writes- My husband, Chris, and I welcomed the birth of our first child, Gemma Alexandria. She was born on February 21, 2002. Gemma is healthy and doing wonderful.

Lynda Halsey Hickey 1991 writes- Michael and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our son, George Logan Hickey. Logan was born on March 6, 2002. He was 6 pounds, 12 ounces. We live in Chester Springs, PA.

Richard Slatcher 1991 writes- Richard Slatcher '91 married Julia Altrocchi in Boca Grande, Florida on April 20, 2002. Josh Sapienza '91 was best man. Rich and Julia currently live in Washington, DC. This fall they are moving to Austin, where Rich will be pursuing a Ph.D. in social psychology at the University of Texas.

Regina DeAngelis Reidenberg 1991 writes: Regina and Seth Reidenberg welcomed a baby boy, Jordan Michael on January 15, 2002.

Christa McDermott 1992 writes- I'll be starting a doctoral program in Psychology and Women's Studies this fall at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Until then, any Archmereans in the west, come out and visit me in Berkeley - I've got couch space :)

Meagan Miller 1992 writes: I am still singing all over the USA, and sometimes Europe, and live in a suburb of NYC. If you are visiting NYC, be in touch!

Dava Robinson McClain 1993 writes: Dava's father, David Robinson, died suddenly October 20, 2001 after a short battle with stomach cancer.

Catherine Zwolak 1994 writes: I am in my last year of law school at Widener University School of Law. I am a Member of the Delaware Civil Clinic which allows law students, working with Delaware attorneys, to represent indigent people of the community. I am also a law clerk for a Wilmington firm concentrating on Corporate Transaction and Corporate Bankruptcy. June 2001 I completed the San Diego Rock n'Roll Marathon in memory of Tara Londergan Kilian (class of 1987) of as part of Team in Training through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Delaware Chapter.

Lauren Dege Cardillo 1994 writes: Lauren Cardillo (Dege '94) and Bryan Cardillo '94 welcomed the birth of their first child, Courtney Elizabeth on 5/31/2002.

Molly McDowell Oakey 1995 writes: Molly McDowell married Christopher Oakey in June, 2002 at Christ
Episcopal Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. The couple resides in Christopher's native city of Richmond, Virginia, where he is employed by Morton G Thalhimer Construction, Inc, and Molly coaches 7th grade
field hockey and lacrosse at Saint Catherine's School.

Martha DelCampo Sullivan 1996 writes: Martha DelCampo '96, daughter of John '68 and Nancy DelCampo, married Matthew Sullivan on June 1, 2002 at Saint Anthony's Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Archmere alumni in the wedding party included the bride's sister, Dea DelCampo '99, and Cynthia Reinhart King '96. Martha and Matt live in Boston, where Martha works as a structural engineer and Matt attends Tufts University School of Medicine.

JoAnna Cosenza 1997 writes- Mr and Mrs. Martin J.Cosenza of Media, PA announce the engagement of thier daughter, JoAnna Marie (97), to John J. Laskas III (93), the son of Dr. and Mrs. John J. Laskas II of Media, PA. The wedding will take place in June.

Erica DiFusco 1997 writes- Erica graduated from Summa Cum Laude from the University of Delaware in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, along with minors in Management Information Systems and Economics. Erica currently works for PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Global Risk Management Solutions Group. She recently passed the November 2001 CPA Exam and received one of the top 5 scores in the state of Pennsylvania.

Julia Weinig Mairano 1997 writes: Julia Weinig wed John A. Mairano of Canton Connecticut in August of 2001 at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Hockessin, Delaware. Among the participants were: Molly Cahill (1997) as the cantor during the mass, Christine Lu (1997) playing the flute, and Joanna Michell (1997) as a lector. Shawn Witt (1997) ushered during the ceremony. Julia is a recent graduate (2001) of Elizabethtown College with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy. She currently works at Wilmington Hosptial as an occupational therapist.

Zach Moore '99 a junior at Fairfield University will be attending the University of New Castle in Australia this semester leaving 2/3/02 and returning 7//02, the university is about 1 hour above Sydney.

Johnathan Gajdos 2000 writes: -I have been awarded a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to defray the cost of studying at the University of Tübingen for the 2002-2003 academic year.

Ryan Browning 2001 writes: Worked in summer 02 as an intern for Senator Carper in D.C. and had a great time! Returning to 2nd year at Univ. of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in August 02. Go TarHeels!
