Clayford T. Grimm 1943, consulting architectural engineer in Austin, Texas, born July 31, 1924, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, died March 13, 2003, at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Grimm was a licensed structural engineer whose professional practice included clients throughout North America. He had authored more engineering literature on masonry than any other living American. His published works include more than 174 papers in virtually all of the national architectural and engineering journals. For 22 years Mr. Grimm was an adjunct member of the architectural engineering faculty at The University of Texas at Austin where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in masonry engineering and in construction specifications and contracts. Mr. Grimm was a graduate of Archmere Academy in Claymont and the 1984 Alumnus of the Year, Delaware and of the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He served in the United States 75th Infantry Division in World War II. Mr. Grimm is survived by his wife, Elide Lucy Grimm, whom he married in 1946, his daughter, Rose Marie Davidson and son-in-law, Joe Riley Davidson, and granddaughter, Laura Catherine Davidson of Houston, Texas. A Rosary was held Friday, March 14, 2003 at 7 P.M. The Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, in Austin on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 2:30 P.M., Father Kevin Rai, celebrant. William E. Eppridge 1955 writes: Bill Eppridge, Archmere 1955, is having a joint exhibit with CBS at the Smithsonian Institution in late December 2003 running through June of 2004. The exhibit is titled "Backstage and Behind the Scenes: The Beatles and Ed Sullivan". The exhibit chronicles the Beatles first United States visit in 1964 and Bill Eppridge was photographing it for LIFE magazine. CBS was shooting it for their own archives. The show is also opening in New York City in early February 2004 at the Museum of Television and Radio.

Robert Beste Jr. 1968 writes: My son Robert III (class of 1993) and I have recently jointly published a book/ treatise captioned:"Automobile Injury and Insurance Claims: Delaware Law and Practice." This is a 350-page hardbound volume which reviews and discusses all delaware law and cases anyone needs to know about if injured in an auto accident in Delaware. The book is written for attorneys and insurance agents but is also helpful to laypersons.

Marty Devine 1974 writes: Update: Still in Baghdad and probably will be for some time. I am currently serving as the J6, Director of C4I for the Joint Special Operations Task Force - Arabian Peninsula. I was lucky enough to get back to the states for a couple weeks to graduate from Command and General Staff College. While home I was able to see Joe play in a few of the Archmere state tournament baseball games. Kelly and the boys are still hanging in there. Joe was named as one of the co-captains for Archmere football this year. See picture old message: In November my National Guard unit (Special Operations Detachment - Joint Forces) was mobilized and called to active duty. We have been attached to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and deployed to an "undisclosed location in support of Operation Enduring Freedom". I served with the 5th Special Forces during the First Gulf War as a company commander. I am now serving as the Director of the Signal Center. Kelly and the boys (Joe, Patrick, Sean and Michael) are doing well. Joe is in his Junior year at Archmere.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr.Martino lived in Folcroft for the past 40 years. He owned and operated Dandy Baking Co. of Philadelphia. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Marie who died in 1999. He is survived by his son, Dominic('83) of Folcroft; and four daughters, Donna Kane of Orlando, Fla., Carol Smith of Phoenix Az., Theresa Mills of Vineland, N.J., and Joan Crinite of Bethel, Pa.; brother Anthony of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Matt Warder 1988 writes: I have finalized my move from Denver, CO to Charlotte, NC. A whole nine days after moving into my new home we welcomed our third daughter (Aubrey Rose Warder) on 8/15/03. Her oldest sister Payton and middle sister Kennady were so excited mommy had the baby "come out of her tummy". As part of our move I accepted a promotion to Data and Internet Manager for the city of Charlotte and Time Warner Telecom. I regret missing the reunion but the little one's forced that upon me. I will visiting the area this Thanksgiving to see my sister and her family. I really look forward to catching back up with friends and family now that I have made it back to this side of the country. My brother and parents are only two miles away now -- what a blessing!

Brian Halsey 1989 writes: I was promoted to Associate Professor in the business law and paralegal programs at Peirce College in Philadelphia this July. In addition, I will receive my Master of Laws from Villanova University in July 2003. I also was elected secretary and treasurer of the Mid Atlantic Academy of Legal Studies in Business for 2003-2004 and I have authored several articles that have appeared in industry publications. My wife, Jennifer, and I are expecting our third child in January. The new baby will join Emma (2001) and Grace (2002).

Michelle Fleetwood 1992 writes: Last year I completed a pathology residency at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and the National Zoo in Washington DC, and was named a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. I'm on staff at the AFIP where I train the military residents, fill in at the zoo and investigate marine mammal strandings. I just got back from Seattle where I was studying the effect of sonar on marine mammals.

Angela Chien 1995 writes: I graduated from Columbia Law School this May, and will be taking the New York Bar Exam in July. After that, I'll have two-and-a-half months off to travel and relax before starting work in October at Dewey Ballantine LLP, a law firm here in New York. I felt rather underqualified for the job, but it seemed to go quite well. I also graduated from that school in April with two very useful degrees in German and Linguistics and an equally useful minor in French. I am currently applying my amazing math skills as a bank teller in Bethesda, MD. I intend to apply to be a contestant on the next season of CBS's hit reality show: "The Amazing Race." I also plan on attending the Christian Albrecht University of Kiel in Germany this October studying Scandinavian Philologie. That ought to be even more useful than the degrees I already have. (Of course, if you decide to post any of this news, you may want to edit out the sarcasm...)

Her performance of "'Till There Was You" from Meredith Willson's The Music Man captured the judges and the audience in Convention Hall and brought her additional scholarship money as she won the Preliminary Talent Competition.
