From 1910 until 1931 Archmere was the beautiful
country estate of John J. Raskob, his wife, Helena Springer Green,
and their 12 children. Chairman of the Board of General Motors,
Vice President in charge of finance for the DuPont Company and
the developer of the Empire State building, Raskob was recognized
as one of the most successful and influential financiers of his
time. He built a home, The Patio, that is as unique and beautiful
as any in the world.
